Linwood
- Spearheaded the campaign to renew the Town Centre -lobbying potential investors in the Shopping Centre site.
- Successfully campaigned for new schools: St. Benedict’s opened last summer; the new Linwood High is scheduled to open in 2008 and a new Woodlands Primary, with a much-needed nursery, is due in summer 2007.
- Campaigned successfully for the introduction of neighbourhood wardens. Wendy now wants them extended to the whole community.
- Successfully lobbied Communities Scotland for a new sheltered housing complex now under construction in Kinnaird Drive.
- Lobbied for extra lottery cash - £750 000 was awarded through Fair Shares - and is supporting initiatives such as the Linwood Carers’ Project.
- Supported demands for a new bus service to the RAH.
- Successfully lobbied local Council for frequent rubbish collection and the installation of litter bins between the Clippens Shops and St Benedict’s.
- Lobbied for new speed-activated signs on Clippens Road to improve road safety.
- Fought for reintroduction of a cash machine in Linwood.
- Spearheaded the successful campaign for the Abercorn Anglers Club to retain access to the River Gryffe.
Paisley North
- Championed new measures to crack down on drug dens, large rowdy groups and irresponsible parents.
- Campaigned successfully for new school building programme, resulting in the state-of-the-art St Andrews Academy, opened in 2006; and a new Ferguslie primary in 2007.
- Successfully lobbied Executive for neighbourhood wardens in Ferguslie, Gallowhill, Seedhill and Shortroods.
- Fought for the regeneration of the North End, including plans for a new supermarket at Love Street and the building of 500 new homes in Shortroods, including 140 for rent.
- After wendy raised questions in Parliament, the Executive pledged tougher sentences for knife carrying.
- After meeting residents, Wendy lobbied the Council for more traffic calming measures in Gallowhill.
- Called for prison sentences for retailers who repeatedly sell alcohol to under-18s.
- Successfully campaigned for the Glasgow Airport Rail Link, which will bring 700 new jobs to Paisley town centre and greatly boos the local economy.
- Is calling for the introduction of on-the-spot fines graffiti, vandalism and littering.
- Successfully campaigned for the replacement and improvement of St James’ (the Racecourse) Pitches as part of the GARL plans.
- Joined the police, wardens and ASSIST to discuss the best ways of tackling anti-social behaviour in communities like Gallowhill and Ralston.
- Fought for the introduction of zebra crossings on Arkleston Road and and for 20mph restriction notices to be reinstated in Whitelaw Avenue.
- Successfuly campaigned for an outright ban on the sale of swords and for a ban on the sale of spray paint to under-16s.
- Supported plans for a new stadium for St Mirren FC, to eradicate the club’s debt and enable Saints to continue playing in Paisley.
- Backed the introduction of a Paisley Youth Court to help reduce teenage crime
- Successfully lobbied the Executive to contribute to a new £3.2 million development in Ferguslie Park - bringing 30 new homes to the area.
- Campaigned successfully for new CCTV cameras to be installed in the West end of Paisley.
- Successfully lobbied the Executive to award £23 million to improve recycling in Renfrewshire over the next 10 years.
- Supported the new business park at St James’ Interchange, which could bring 3000 jobs to Paisley.
- Called for the introduction of Community Reparation Orders requiring offenders to do work beneficial to the community, e.g. removing local graffiti.
- Championed the dreation of local hotline to hasten the reporting of, and action on, local anti-social behaviour.
- Backed the bid to sportscotland to upgrade Penilee Playing Fields
Renfrew
- Campaigned relentlessly and successfully for a new health centre
- Campaigned for Renfrew Sports Centre, which opened in 2004.
- Lobbied effectively for a school improvement programme, which included the recent refurbishment of Trinity High; with refurbishment of renfrew High due by 2009.
- Is campaigning for a new FastLink transport service to provide better, faster links between Glasgow and Renfrew.
- Lobbied Communities Scotland for the regeneration of Moorpark, including a £4.5 million housing boost - 54 rented houses already built, 100 private to be completed by 2008.
- Backed petition to reduce youth disorder in Moorpark and increase the numbers of wardens and plain clothes police in the area.
- Repeatedly lobbied local authority regarding Sandy Road traffic concerns
- Responded to local concerns seeking improvements to Victory Gardens play area.
